General Information

Welcome to the North American Stronger than All Firearms League. We strive for a competitive and respectful atmosphere, a goal we pursue seriously. The league provides a competitive shell for clan matches, however, a league cannot thrive without a supportive clan base.

Expectations

Historically, the stronger than all league has based itself on a set of standards. Fittingly, we have set standards for the clans participating in our organization.

What we Expect From You

STA-FA has standards that all clans are expected to live up to. If you fail to live up to our standards; you will no longer be allowed to participate in STA.

First, we expect your clan to act professionally and maturely both inside and outside of games. Examples of not acting professionally:

- Insulting other players, clans, or STA admins.
- Whining about a loss or a dispute. (Trust us: there is a difference between whining and being both logical and civil.)
- Disregarding sportsmanship.
- Publically making rash statements.

We expect you to use your judgment, because this is not a complete list of unacceptable behaviors.

*Note* We typically hold associate the behavior of 1 member with the entire clan. Clan leaders, please, make sure you keep your members in line.

Additionally, we expect your clan, all members to know the rules and to follow the rules. We understand that the rules are long; we wrote them, we know!
Do not complain if you get caught for something you "Did not know about." There is no excuse for not reading and knowing the rules prior to entering this league and during the competitive season. We want professionals. Professionals know the rules of the game.

We expect that your clan checks this site frequently for updates! If a news post is made that is relevant to your clan and you neglect to check the site, STA holds you responsible for whatever problems your mistake causes.

Finally, we expect that all players in this league do not cheat at any time. PERIOD. You may believe that you cannot be caught, but sooner or later every cheater slips. If your clan is found to significantly be involved in cheating then you will be removed from STA, no questions asked.W Furthermore, we will do what we can to make sure your clan never plays in organized competition again. Cheating is an extremely serious offense.

What You Can Expect From Us

Though we are providing a service for you, we too follow stringent standards. Here is what you can expect of us:

- We will act civil and professional at all times, regardless of whether or not we agree with you.
- We will be unbiased in all disputes.
- We will follow the rules to the letter, and we will enforce them.
- If we change the rules after a dispute, those changes will not affect the dispute.
- We will deal with problems promptly.
- We will be open to suggestions at all times.
- If we must make a ruling that the rules do not cover, then we will rule in the interest of fairness.

How STA Firearms Operates

STA Firearms is not a ladder. Instead, we are a league. Clans are ranked soley on the basis of their performance on a set schedule.

Disputes

It is the goal of STA to create a league with as few issues as possible. However, realistically, we know that disputes will happen.

Disputes arise when one or both clans in a scheduled match make an error and the clans cannot come up with a mutually acceptable solution to the problem themselves. Also, there may be a rule or standard that needs clarification.

In such an event, STA highly encourages you bring the issue to an Admin.

When this happens, the appropriate STA admins need to receive the cases from all clans involved, which includes evidence and documentation.

Once the cases and evidence are evaluated according to the rules, STA will make a ruling on the dispute.

Any clan that does not accept the terms of a ruling will automatically forfeit, and the clan risks expulsion from STA.

All rulings are final.

Reporting Match Results and Disputes

Clans should be prompt with the reporting of match results and disputes. We will not go out of our way to hunt down your match results. To claim a victory, you must report scores to STA-FA staff immediately.

Regarding disputes, if you have a problem, please talk to us immediately! We will disregard all dispute claims submitted to us later than 24 hours.

Entering STA-FA

Clans apply via the website and are potentially admitted, depending on the information they submit.

Contacting STA

If you need to get a hold of us for whatever reason, there are three ways you can contact us.

E-mail: The slowest of the three, but we're guaranteed to see it and we should reply within a day.

ICQ: Faster than e-mail, but not guaranteed to work all the time, and STA-FA admins are not known to idle on ICQ often.

IRC: By far the best way to contact us. If we're around, you can talk to us on the spot; if not, you can leave messages (in a sense), or talk to other people familiar with STA. We believe that IRC is an essential tool for communication and we highly recommend that you become familiar with it.

E-mail and ICQ info is listed on the staff contacts page.

IRC Information

We realize that some people do not know anything about IRC, which is why we have included an IRC section. Without a doubt, IRC is the best way to handle a problem. We can be found on the GamesNET network, channel #sta-fa.

Cheating Policy

Definition of Cheating

Map exploiting is cheating! Reference the section in the rules to review what the latest exploits are.

The use of any non league endorsed software or script to enhance gameplay is considered cheating.

Most modified models will be allowed If you want permission to use a specific set of models, consult a league admin.

Cheat Detection

The STA-FA League admin recommends that all clan members take screenshots during a match and record demos when in question.

These screenshots can be helpful as proof against the cheater.

At random, any player may be required to take a screenshot to show that they are not utilising any obvious cheats.

If the admin requests such a screenshot, it must be taken, and be made available to the admin on request after the match. If you think your opposing clan has possible cheaters record a demo and take screenshots!

Cheating Accusations

Any player suspected of cheating will be brought up before admins!

If it is determined beyond a reasonable doubt that they have cheated, the player will most likely be banned from the league permantly and their wonid will be added to our public ban list with a detailed description of the whole ordeal.

The respective clan may also be subject to punishment at the head admins discretion.

Penelties may include but are not limited to:

1) The Clan Being Banned from STA-FA!
2) The Player Being Banned from STA-FA!
3) The Players Name/WONID/IP Being Added to the STA Ban List!
4) Point Deduction from the Clan the cheater is a member of!

If the player is kicked from the clan the clan may have a second chance once it gets rid of the cheater! This is at the discrestion of the league admins.

Suspensions and Bans

All suspensions and bans will be listed on right navigation bar.

Common Punishment

Forgetting to Record Demo 1 Game Suspension

Staff

The STA-FA Council consists of a group of core admins. Contact information for all STA-FA staff is listed on the staff contacts page.

Above the STA-FA Council are the STA Admins, the central coordinators for all of STA. STA Admins should only be contacted for issues that lie beyond STA-FA. If you contact one of them about an STA-FA problem, you will probably be directed to an STA-FA Admin.

Becoming a Staff Member

If you want to become a staff member, two conditions must be met.First, we have to be looking for new staff and secondly you should meet these criteria:

- You act professional at all times.
- You frequently idle on the STA-FA IRC channel.
- You are committed to the ideals of fair and fun play.
- You are familiar with STA-FA rules to the point where you could handle most disputes.
- You agree to uphold STA-FA rules at all times, even if you feel they are wrong. If there is a problem with the rules and they need to be changed, then the resulting changes will not affect prior rulings.

In most cases, you will have to be approved by STA-FA staff and the STA head admins.

Notes of Importance

Predictions

As a matter of policy set by STA Admins, STA no longer writes predictions for their matches, due to voiced concerns about bias. We will, however, do our best to periodically provide links to outside sites that are willing to write predictions for STA-FA.

Issues with Other Leagues

If the league finds that your clan has undergone major disciplinary action, STA admins hold the right to take action. Such times when action may be called are, but not limited to, cheating and poor conduct. Leagues do communicate with one another to keep the low quality clans out of circulation!

Engagement in Public Servers

STA holds the right to review cases of convicted cheaters on the public servers. STA participants are required to be honorable at all times. Cheating will not be tolerated across the board.
