| Not actually cyzer...and kyuubi ruling | 6:35pm EST | cyzer | There has been numerous complaints from the community about the kick kyuubi received from a server with the variable 's66as_on 1'. This is an old cheat that kyuubi claims he has had in his config which he received from a pro players config since he began playing quake 3 many years ago.
Most servers do not have a check for this variable as it is outdated and unusable. That being said, there is no proof of actual cheating or hacking from kyuubi. However, the excuse given for why this known cheat was in his config was weak, inadmissible and will not be accepted as an alibi.
Kyuubi will serve a 2-week suspension beginning this Sunday, July 29th.
For the rest of the community, let this be a warning: YOU are responsible for anything and everything inside your config file. If you don't know what a command or variable is, rather than tinkering with it or assuming it's innocence, research the variable via google or ask someone that knows something about cfg files for assistance.
If any further proof should pop up regarding this or other matters, we reserve the right to extend any suspensions indefinitely.

| Admin Applications | 9:02pm EST | gibby | Hey everyone. I don't really think it's fair that both admins (cyzer and myself) are on the same team. I think it would be most fair for the community if someone else was on the board of admins in order to make rulings in cases where animosity may be involved.
Add to the fact that I rarely play ctfs anymore, and play almost stricly 3wa, I probably shouldn't have a strong voice for the community.
Furthermore, so many people here piss and moan like whiney bitches about the schedules not being up on time. Even though we've explained it to you that some people reschedule, don't report results, etc., this will give someone else a chance to prove that cyzer and I are lazy and it's very easy to have the schedules up on time. Here's a hint. 99 times out of 100 the games are on Sunday at 9:30 EST. This must be surprising every time you check the schedule page!
Some fun perks of being an admin? Hearing people that were banned years ago whine about why they should be unbanned. People telling you that you abuse power when you actually make a decision.
So if all this sounds great to you, and you'd like some more responsibility in this gem of a community we call "CTFS," talk to cyzer and I about becoming an admin. You will have to apply to STA afterwards and they will decide if you're admin material.
I'm going to remain an admin on the arena ladder, which is where I enjoy playing a friendly game with mature people. |

| gomer | 5:39pm EST | cyzer | Gomer is now officially banned from STA-ctfs play.
There are a few reasons behind this banning,
1) 60% of those that reviewed the demo of his xe match concluded he did use something, 20% weren't sure either way, but did find it suspicious, 20% said anyone can do what he did.
2) His statistics are extremely skewed towards weapons that are favorable to autofire, 52% rail (was the highest on arch3r's for awhile) but maintaining a 24% lightning
3) General behavior seems extremely fishy; his drunk rants about having inside information on who cheats, breaking his wrist as soon as a new PB update came out, saying he was deployed to Iraq and playing under a new guid and renewed IP (with extremely lower statistics at first, at around the time of a pb update, but need not worry, it's back up to 65% rail and 24% lightening).
Well couple this with past indiscretions (back when he was a 30% solid railer, he created fake wallhack screenshots of _FuSiOn and tried to pass them off as punkbuster screenshots) I've decided the league will be considerably cleaner without him.
This is a controversial decision as was the qt-john/micr0n/fate ban was, because he doesn't have a PB Ban, but personally I'm 100% sure just by watching him on pubs and his match demos that I am making the right decision. Feel free to comment. |

Congrats to qcad for becoming the new STA champs in a great game against the Grave Diggers.
Please check the forums and vote on the split server rule. This hadn't been a problem before, but the community should have a say.
